One of the Tips of the Day says: "In the Pan/Expand dialog, you can widen the image of stereo files. Copyright © 1998-2000 Sonic Foundry, Inc." I can't find the Pan/Expand dialog. The tip seems to be referencing the Process menu "Pan" menu item, but there is no Expand to be found. How would I widen the image of stereo files in SFXP 4.5? Thanks, Shaun |

The tool tip is incorrect. XP 4.5 does not offer the stereo expand mode in it's Graphic Pan dialog. However, you can use Process->Pan->Graphic for standard panning operations. A little web research should yield plenty of imaging ideas with plain old pans, delays, and mixes. But before you get carried away, try adding a short delay (~10 ms and 100% wet) to just one channel to widen the image a bit. I find that is usually satisfactory. Regards, Jason. I like your suggestion and I'll give it a try. Meanwhile, another question: what would you suggest to add some separation or a stereo effect to a mono recording? Hopefully the tips and help will be updated in an upcoming product update. Jason VandeKieft wrote: >>The tool tip is incorrect.
