I am new to it.
Just wonder does Sound Forge provide such feature that you
can define the recorded file's length?
E.g. I want to record a wav file as 190,000 bytes, at
sample rate 22050, 8 bit, mono. How can I configure it to
let it stop recording when the file length is 190,000?
Thanks.

Open a record dialog box and choose the Punch In option. Then
choose "samples" as the time format and enter in the start sample and
end sample number and hit record. You're good to go. (also select the
smaple rate and bit rate in the New dialog box, of course.)

Charles,

I'm still quite confused. How can I know the wav file will be end up
with 190,000 bytes or other length ending with 00 as the last two
digits? Could you please give me more detail info.

I tried your guide. For example, I set it 22050Hz, 8 bit, and mono.
I tried using sample like 1100, the file is 1218 bytes. I also tried
22050 samples, the file is 22168 bytes.

Thanks.
