Subject:Sound Forge 4.X

I have seen many others with simular install problems so I
know I am not alone.
I am a licensed Sound forge 4.0 user and patiently awaited
the much talked about Free 4.5 update.
I downloaded the update after finding the serial and found
the surprise! Original CD requirement. after talking to
Customer support, I finally found the original.
It did not work again. 2nd call to Tech/Cust Support, they
told me I had to have the original 4.5 CD!
(That is why I am upgrading)why they did not tell me this
in the begining I do not know.
To get the 4.5 CD it would be $100. apprx.
I believe that Sonic Foundry has the right to charge for
thier upgrades, but my problem is being led to believe that
we were getting a free upgrade (licensed users anyway)
Then I finally decide to purcahse the $100. online upgrade
only to find it is for 2.0 and 3.0 users, it says nothing
about 4.0 users.
Seems as if 4.0 users kind of got the shaft.
Great product but I think in securing you upgrade you may
have went a little too far and discouraged me at least from
staying with your product. If I am missing something please
let me know.
