I just bought a new Vista computer woth three gig RAM. I moved the Acid software over to my new workstation and started recoding LP's through the line in. About two minutes into the recording, no matter what the recording levels are I get total distortion, rumbling on the record file......... My old computer with 256 ram had not problems with the same set up. Does anyone have suggestions? I looked on the other forums but did not see anything. mike |

I should mention that I am running Vista, so far I am unimpressed with it.... |

Please fill out your system spec in your user profile. What kind of sound card are you using? Are you using ASIO, Microsoft Mapper, or Wave Classic drivers? How is the turn table connected to your sound card? Peter |

Sorry, it is a Realtek sound card running HDMI, The turntable is plugged into my receiver, with the record out RCA jacks going to a stereo line in into the "line in" of the sound card. This is what I did my old system and had no problems, using the same sony record method in acid. I would record the whole side and then separate tracks out with the track N to get the different tracks. It worked great until I moved to my new HP Vista system. |

Perhaps you merely need to set the input volume control on the line in of the sound card. The new system may have defaulted to some level higher than what you had been using. |

I looked at that at first. It records for about two minutes without distortion then for about 10 seconds it sounds like crap, full distortion, not feedback, just like white noise over the music being recorded. I played with all sorts of recording level configs. |
