Subject:Normalizing, Compressing & Maximizing Mixed DJ CD?

Hello Sound Forge Guru's!

I need your help! My immediate peers are all on Macintosh
systems and they chastise me. Those jerks!

I am compiling a "mixed" audio CD of vinyl records I play
as a DJ.

Naturaly, I use Sound Forge to record directly from
my "premixer" thru my Gina card to my hard drive.

Understand that no two pieces of vinyl seem to have the
same volumes and while two pieces are being mixed together
the overall volume is higher until the mix is complete.

My questions are somewhat simple:

How to I achieve the best results of Normalization,
Compression and Maximizing the final result prior to
burning????

Is there someone out there that has a better method? Or
best method?
