I appears that SF needs a plug in to do 24bit.
Is this true?
Can I get a refund if this is true?

Hello.

This is correct, Sound Forge currently has no 24 bit support.

As for a refund, I'm not too sure.

Please give us a call at 1-800-57SONIC extension #3.

Thanks.

Hello,

You think that Sonic Foundry go to the correct way?, Is possible that
SF forget the pro audio users?, I need buy a Wavelab for a 24 bit
support or wait a few years with my unsuported Sound Forge 4.5?, If
you have any reply to this questions, reply me.

Regards

P.D. Is very funny look the release the very very multimedia products,
and at the same time the audio pro (Your firts users) lacks of support

Go and get WaveLab - I really don't understand the policy of sonic
foundry but in my opinion they are really too slow. sound forge is a
really cute program for some editing and so on, but not for the pro
user who need 24 bit, multitrack editing and that FAST.
Imagine this : you have a 40 min. file in sound forge opend and want
to cut of some silence at the very beginning of it. what happends ?
.. right - go and cook some coffee !! (undo, redrawing waveform ...)
with wavelab - even if the file is longer, just cut at the beginning
and go on with your work. it's about 1/100 second !

...only e.g. ... !

Thanks Tobias, I'm thinking in buy a Wavelab.
But I pay some money for my Sound Forge, I'm a registered user, and I
want a upgrade. I think that: if Sonic Foundry stoped the future
releases of SoundForge (And lacks of 24 support), the customers need
know this situation (By a Sonicfoundry comunication), for change to
other editing programs, and not spend more time waithing anything.

Sonic Foundry, I need a explanation (And more users like me, need it)

Regards

P.D. K.Shaffer, if you are fast to reply the 1409 post, I want you
fast reply to my post.

Sound Forge 5.0 with 24-bit support is underway. See post #1255.

They've been "working" on un update for a couple of years now. It's
ludicrous. They have this product line that's pumping out a flood of
new programs and sound forge remains untouched and unimproved.I still
use it occassionally because I'm used to it and I still do alot of 16
bit editing but as I ease more and more into 24 bit I'm phasing sound
forge out, not to mention wavelab does non-destrutive edits which save
ALOT of time. It seems like Sonic Foundry is making a determined
effort NOT to update this program.

Hi K.Shaffer,

How many time more I need to spend for a 24 bits upgrade of Sound
Forge?

Regards

P.D. Please, I want a fast and real reply (I heard the same song 1,5
years), please, days and weeks for the new release.

I'm a registered user (of course).
