I'm using Music Studio 7.0a build 157 on Vista. When I render anything to mp3 or wma, it is really choppy...like some of the tracks pop in and out. Happens on any song regardless of the number of tracks and regardless of the effects.

there is a lot of info in this post but see if it helps.
look for a post near the top that mentions "disable all enhancements" under control panel>sounds>

and don't get SP1 yet

Thanks for the link. I have tried it but to no avail. I have disabled all of the extraneous sound stuff and I still get the choppy sound. I've also tried other formats and tried burning straight to cd all with no luck.

Aside from your poblems, the MP3 encoder in Acid isn't all that good. Can you render to WAV? Does that sound OK? If so, it may be better to convert to MP3 using Winamp or Foobar 2000 and use the LAME encoder.

Other than that it sounds like you have some serious CPU or RAM issues. If I've had problems with Acid it's mostly during playback, not rendering. What kind of project are you rendering? Do you have VSTis, or are you using a couple of computers and running FXTeleport?

Tried rendering to wav and no luck. All it is is a few analog recordings mixed together along with some drum loops. I have tried redering with a single analog track and it still does it. I can't imagine this being a memory/cpu thing as this is an upgraded system from the one I used to use. On the old system, I rendered the same project with no issue. The only other differences: Old system had Music Studio 6 vs. 7 now and Old system was XP, new is Vista.
