Looking at the deluge of new products that they've released the last year while they continue to serenely ignore the obsolecense of SF 4.5 utterly amazes me. I think they're going to release a program analyzing the acoustic responses of concrete to truck tires before they update Sound Forge. I still like the interface better then Wave Lab and I still use SF at times but I find myself using it less and less. Not even considering the lack of 24 bit capability the cutting and editing is so S-L-O-W compare to wavelab. this isn't a knock on 4.5 as it was really great when it came out. However it seems to me Sonic Foundry just has other interests and don't seem to care much about the people who started out with them. In all the razzle-dazzle editing and processing functions of today I still need a two track editing system and 4.5 just isn't cutting it much anymore. Bob |
