I still use Acid. I really thought i was going to chuck it after I switched. I won't go into all the reasons I switched, but top of the list are the special competitive upgrade deal I got and my frustration with stability issues. I'm kind of bummed I felt compelled to make the "switch" because i could have used that money to upgrade my soundforge to version 9. With that said, Acid is so much easier to use and despite all the bells and whistles Sonar has, some tasks are simply better to do in Acid. i find remixing in Acid much easier. Anyone who has ever collaborated with someone who submitted strictly an acapella can feel my pain when trying to sync to music in other software. I think Acid gets a bad rap from many users of other software because of the impression that all users simply throw together loops and call it a song. Although I will likely be using Sonar more and more as i get used to it, i can't imagine giving up Acid completely since it still does some things better. My only question on continued use now is whether Sony will make Pro 7 worth the extra expense for me. |

I switched to Sonar after the disappointment of version 5, then came back to Acid with the excellent features of AP6. Sonar does a hell of a lot of extra things, but it seems to do nothing with ease or grace. I find AcidPro way, way faster to work up and complete projects. And I really like the way AP handles VSTi - beautifully simple. |
