Dear Sonic Foundry, as a long-time user of SoundForge in a professional environment I have increasing problems to describe my favorite master-editor to our customers as "up-to-date". Allthough hardly anyone actually _releases_ stuff in 24/96-format today, more and more people demand at least a _backup_ that will be at hand when the time comes. Recently, we installed the new Steinberg/Nuendo as multitrack- and synchro-platform, and allthough I'm really impressed sound- and feature-wise (32 bit floating! :-) , I will come back to SF as long as possible - _if_ it's possible! - for the ease of use when it comes to mono- or stereo-edits. But without 24/96 (and maybe 5.1 and 7.1 formats ....?) there will be no future, I'm sorry. Sonic Foundry - we know you can do it! ;-) All the best, /Dietz - Media Art Compagnie |

I'd be interested in an estimate of if/when 24-bit will be included. I'm considering purchasing Sound Forge 4.5 & CD Architect for mastering but lack of 24 bit support is an issue.
