I love soundforge, it is a fantastic piece of software. But will it EVER hit the benchmark everyone else seems to have hit at least a year ago? I once called the company to ask this question, and the person told me "get acid or vegas, they're 24-bit." As any of us who have used these products know they are not at all interchangable. Vegas is now entering version 2, SF has been on 4.5 since before vegas was ever released, its time to upgrade the product that got you here guys. Also, in responding to this post please don't say "24-bit support is coming," i was told it was coming 2 years ago, give us at least a ballpark figure. Please, we love your products, but the world is in 24- bit now, don't make us switch to wavelab by default. Alan Parks Dissonance Industries |

Hi. I think most of us over here agree over here, too. I know I do. We've started work on it - it's not just some mythical story. :) We still don't have the release date though, but once we do, I will make sure to let all of you know. >>Alan Parks wrote: >>>> I love soundforge, it is a fantastic piece of >>>>software. Heya, Seeing as how this post is almost 5 months old, is there a chance we can see something here? I have to stand with Alan on trying to get answers, it would seem you guys are very tight lipped, when in fact you shouldn't be. Know I understand how empty promises can make for angry customers (take ID's Quake I release for instance (or any Quake release)), but, I will say that in making those promises, production time was stepped up and developers worked overtime to make sure when it did hit, it hit hard and everyone was won over! So, armed with this knowledge and considering you have competition (Wavlab is already 24bit) isn't it about time you gave us all at least a ballpark estimate (IE quarter III 2000)?! -E K.Shaffer wrote: >>Hi. >> >>I think most of us over here agree over here, too.
