I apologize for my extreme ignorance but could someone explain the different purchase options for the SF9 upgrade ??? I do realize that each option has an explanation but I am a bit confused. In laymans(sp) terms, what is the difference (physically) between the 3: Upgrade to Sound Forge (Packaged) Includes Sound Forge 9 software (with Noise Reduction 2.0 plug-ins), CD Architect 5.2 software, Mastering Effects Bundle by iZotope, Sound Forge and CD Architect Quick Start Manuals and Keyboard Command Shortcut Lists. US$149.95 Upgrade to Sound Forge (Download) Includes downloadable versions of Sound Forge 9 software (with Noise Reduction 2.0 plug-ins), CD Architect 5.2 software, Mastering Effects Bundle by iZotope, and product manuals (PDF). US$134.95 Optional Shipped Components Includes application DVD (with Sound Forge 9, CD Architect 5.2, and Mastering Effects Bundle from iZotope), Sound Forge 9 and CD Architect 5.2 quick start guides and keyboard command shortcut lists. Shipping charges may apply. US$15.00 Thank you, and in return for your kindness at least you get to roll your eyes and chuckle at me... Thank you, Al |

1 (Packaged) - they ship you a baggie containing install discs and some documentation. You have to wait until it arrives in the mail/ups before you can install and use it. Your serial number will be printed inside the front cover of the manual. 2 (Download) - you can immediately install, register, and use the software by downloading it. Your serial number will be emailed to you. You won't receive any physical items. 3 (Optional) - This lets you get the benefits of the physical shipped items if you choose #2. You'll still be able to download and use immediately, and a week or two later you'll get a package with the discs and documentation. Your serial number will be in an email and not in the manual. Note that there is no reason to do both #1 and #3. In fact, the order screen probably won't let you. |

Thank you, Those are the trial versions... Correct? I am still a bit confused, Is the trial the same size as the full ?? Also how is the Ozone trial done? Do you essentially unlock the trial versions when purchasing or download a completely different version. Sorry, I have never done the trial version thing before. Thank you, Al |

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/download/trials/soundforge this is the trial url. Size is the same. The previous link I gave was for the full updated version (9e). The trial is the same size as the full - you can unlock the trial AFAIK into full upon entering a correct serial number. I don't think there is even an MEB trial - only an installer for the full package,(6.4MB before you ask!). which requires a serial to authorise. I could be wrong on this bit - The trial is basically a short-term serial number - after 30 (?) days it stops the application running at all. |

Thank you folks so much. I am still pondering between SF9 and the MEB or just Ozone 3 (as we talked about in other posts). I could get SF9 and the 4 of 6 that would ONLY WORK in SF9 like you said for $100.. Or spend $200 and get 6 of 6 that work in Sonar and SF8... Man I am struggling with this. Are there any other major factors I am missing ?? Thank you all for all your help. Al |

No, though it will take an additional trip back to your internet PC, or a phone call to get an authorise code. geoff |

Your authorisation sticks for upgades, unless uninstalled bewteen upgrades. Ozone is a separate download and install/authorise. geoff |
