I too wish to know if an *.ra file can be read into SoundForge, edited and then saved as a *.wav. Anybody out there do it before? E.L. FoxForest wrote: >>Whether I can with help Sound Forge 4.5 open *.ra and keep >>as *.wav ? >>Thanks. |

No. Real does not provide a codec to decode their files so they can be edited. There is a solution - albiet a hack. There is a tool Virtual Audio Cable 2.0 from Ntonyx (www.ntonyx.com) that basically creates a fake wave output/input device pair - similar to our Virtual MIDI Router. Basically, you play the Real Audio file into this virtual port and record it in Forge. A very hack of a solution, but it might serve your purpose.
