Is it possible to actually record a track with the effects from a VST plug-in? I'd like to be able to do some compression and limiting when I record guitar & vocal parts without having to drop $1500 for a Distressor! ;o)

Thanks!

No, ACID does not support recording a wet signal.

This would not do what you expect. To achieve what you desire you need an external compressor and/or limiter. You will be compressing/limiting after the A/D conversion. You still have to assure that your analog input is not clipping.

Looks like I'll be picking up a compressor. Thanks for the quick reply Peter!

a more cost effective solution would be to get an audio interface card with built-in signal processing. i am not 100% sure, but i think the Emu cards will record the wet signal signal coming in to it's audio inputs.
