hello, I currently record live music (woodwinds, drums, etc.) direct to minidisc and use a MAUDIO Delta DiO 2496 to get it into the computer. I was wondering if anybody could suggest some good studio monitors to use with Sound Forge. Monitors that are affordable and decent in sound quality. The MAUDIO card has analog RCA outputs. Anything better than my 10 watt Altec Lansing speakers my computer came with!!! Thanks in advance!!!!! Jerry Lim |

Hey Jerry, me too. My recording isn't as sofistcated as yours, but i'm also interested in getting a good recommendation for some speakers to use when doing the mixing and effects. I'd be very interested in learning if anybody has domething that can be bought for a couple hundred or less that is considered decent. pdgrisso@att.net Jerry Lim wrote: >>hello, >> >>I currently record live music (woodwinds, drums, etc.) >>direct to minidisc and use a MAUDIO Delta DiO 2496 to get >>it into the computer. Jerry, In case you haven't found any monitors yet, I can recommend the passive Tannoy Reveals. I am currently using them for my editing and they sound great! They only need a modest 50-100W/channel @ 8 ohms amplifier and will accept bare wire or banana plugs. I picked mine up at a local music store (Mars Music) for about $350/pair. They don't go down really low (they start rolling off at about 60Hz) but the low end is tight and the highs are silky smooth. Great deal for editing systems, in my opinion.
