Subject:Removing vocals - difference between channels

I use this function, making a stereo sample into a mono one and often this has the effect of removing the vocal from a track. Very useful sometimes. Is there any way I can create the opposite effect? Leaving all the elements that are the same in both channels and removing the differences. Whatever I try I can't create this effect. I have been testing it by recording myself saying "middle, middle, middle" and copying to both left and right channels of a stereo file. then pasting over me saying "left, left, left" on the left channel and "right, right, right" on the right channel. Using 'differences between channels' cuts out the "middle, middle, middle", the effect I want to create now is just to hear me saying "left" and "right" in either a stereo or mono file. I've a feeling this may be impossible but I can't work out why. Any help much appreciated. |
