Subject:Batch processing

We are using Sound Forge to convert wav files from 44k to
8k mu-law and normalize the audio for prompts for an
IVR-type system. We have been doing batch conversions, but
we need to automate the process. Is there any way to use
Sound Forge from a make file (i.e. command line)? If not,
do you know of any other tool we can use?

Thanks
Jim

We do the same here in finland, only we use A-law instead. If you
want to automate the whole thing, you could try SOX, it is a tool
capable of doing a lot and i know it can do what you need.
You must have a lot of files or then you need to do it idiotproof, i
mean the converting ?
