Subject:Whence 24bit Files

I really expected to hear that there was an announcement
last week about the new version of Sound Forge that would
do 24bit files. I have been a loyal user of Sonic Foundry
products but this is getting to be a problem. I understand
Vegas will handle 24bit files. Does it have a built in
editor or are it's users forced to use another vendors
editor? I really don't expect a definitive answer but at
least a "we're working on it and you see it 2nd quarter"
type answer would be better than nothing.

I feel quite the same. When will we get an answer. We need 5.0 NOW!

It sure works alot faster besides 24 bits. I've been holding off
but Sonic Foundry looks to me like they've just lost interest. This
web site is awash in a neverending flood of new products while Sound
Forge has languishd for years.
I feel a little more comfortable with SF's interphase and wave
editing. That's about the only thing that's made me hold out. However
when you sit around waiting for file cut to be made destructively and
can do the same thing non-destructively with Wave Lab in less then a
second the amount of time saved sure adds up. I may just have to get
used to their wave graphics.
