Subject:Strange 4 minute limit with long avi files!?

Please help me; I am stuck with a video editing job which I
have to finish urgently:
I have a 9 minute avi clip where I have to do some sound
editing. When I open it with soundforge I can access only
approx. 4 minutes in any of my long video clips. What might
be the reason for this problem and how can I overcome the 4
minute limit??? When I have checked my clips with the
microsoft media player and they are ok both in audio and
video, so the problem does not seem to come from my clip.
