Can't edit AVI files properly with 4.0XP -Sound Forge - PC

However, when I do this, the result is not the section I had highlighted. It seems that no matter what I do (crop, cut, delete, etc.) the wrong part of the AVI is left when I'm done. The beginning of the AVI is always left over...if I delete a section in the middle, it cuts stuff off from the end. Very bizarre problem that is difficult to explain. Anyway, I've tried multiple AVI files. The one in question uses codec i263 (which I have on my system.) Any help is appreciated.
