Hi, I want to use Sound Forge 4.0d to mix a vocal with a instrumental music WAV file (to get a new WAV file with singing). One way is to record the voice then use Edit:Paste Special:Mix to mix it into the instrumental WAV. I can do this but it's troublesome to get the two properly synchronized. If there were some way to play and record simultaneously, I could avoid this trouble. Can this be done in this app? If not, is there some other app I should be using? Thanks |

Sound Forge is not a multi-track audio recorder. You would need Vegas for that. But if you really just want to take an existing sound file and add a vocal track to it, you can do it with ACID. You would just load your song as a single track instead of using loops. Then you can actually playback the sound file while recording into a new track in ACID (as long as your sound card supports duplex operation).
