Consistent WAV files before burning -Sound Forge - PC

Subject:Consistent WAV files before burning Posted by: meesha Date:1/3/2000 1:52:00 PM I have two questions relating to burning audio CD's: 1. If I have 10 songs to burn, how can I make the valume (gain?) of all the songs consistent so that one track is not louder than another? Can I save a setting for converting (enhancing) the WAV file and then apply that to the remaining files? 2. On a WAV file that has poor bass, how can I bring that up? I know little about compression and thresholds, so if I knew what was physically happening, I might have a better idea. Thank you

Probably the best way is to carefully listen to them, writing down which way you think the volume should be adjusted, then go back and make the volume changes and listen again. 2. Use EQ to adjust bass/treble. Burn a CD and give it a careful listen. You'll still probably find things you want to adjust. Some music is enhanced by a small amount of compression, under Dynamics Processing on SF menu. One caveat, however, just about every 'adjustment' you do to the .wav files reduces the clarity to some degree. www.digido.com has detailed info on what can go wrong with digital audio.
