Subject:Audio Recording Problem

I just installed SF 4.5 on my system and I'm trying to get
things started, but when I record a dry signal in SF it
plays back with what can only be described as an echo or
reverberation. I have my system set up as follows. I'm
trying to capture sounds from my AKAI DPS12 through a sound
Blaster AWE64. I can play the tracks through the sound card
and everything sounds just fine. But when I record it and
play it back it's echo city. Does anybody have any ideas?
