I recently bought sound forge 4.5. I have normalized my audio to -10db RMS, and the Peak is 0db as well. When I burn my CD-R (using Adaptec Easy CD), the volume level of my CD-R is still lower than a commercial CD. Is there something that I'm missing ? Thanks in advance for your help. |

Commercial CDs are frequently normalized to -6 dB RMS and Heavy compressed. Besides, the frequency spectrum makes big difference in loudness Arrigo. ZANESSI Recording Studios www.zanessi.com.ar R. There seems to be a battle between the mastering facilities to make the loudest CD. Personally I think they're overdoing it, an d recommend you not to get too concerned about this. Check out the "Ultramaximizer" from Waves , if you want to raise the levels of your recordings further. Best regards Tor Magne Hallibakken |

Since i assume all your tracks have the same volume level, i think you can use the batch converter and the volume process to up the volume a little. You can experiment with one of the tracks first to see where to put the volume levels at so they don't clip too bad. I have tried this and my cd seems to be plenty loud and sounds alright to me. |
