Subject:MPEG 3 audio problem in Sound Forge XP 4.0

3 days ago I built a computer with a Soundblaster Live MP3+
and Sound Forge XP 4.0 is one of the pack-in programs.I was
excited to learn about XP 4.0's ability to edit and
compress .AVI video files.I really wanted to use the
Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer 3 Codec as my audio track
compressor, but Sound Forge absolutely refuses to work
properly with this codec.Anything I compress with it comes
out sounding like crap, the audio becomes "chopped up" and
skips like a CD player strapped to a Jackhammer!(I am
compressing at 128KB's, 44.1Khz, Stereo) However, the
program can read and play files compressed with the
Fraunhofer IIS MPEG Layer 3 codec just fine.My other
hardware includes: Pentium 3 450MHZ CPU, 64MB Ram, Voodoo 3 3000 AGP
Video card and I am running Windows 98 SE.Any help in solving this
problem would help me very much.

Thank you.
