Problems upgrading SFXP from 4.5b to 4.5c -Sound Forge - PC

I have Sound Forge XP version 4.5b installed on my PC (it came as part of the software suite that accompanied my CD Speedwriter Plus). A moment ago, I downloaded the 6.1MB patch to upgrade Sound Forge XP from version 4.5b to 4.5c. During the patch installation process, I was asked to enter the serial number, which I did. However, the patch installation program kept telling me I had entered an invalid serial number. I even uninstalled and then reinstalled the full version of SFXP 4.5b, making sure I had entered the original serial number correctly. This did not help--the upgrade program keeps telling me I have entered an invalid serial number. What gives? Is there a separate serial number just for the upgrade patch? Do I need to do something special or different to install the patch. Any suggestions here would be appreciated. Thanks for your time! dleong

I was able to install SFXP and CDA, but could not install the update from the web.
