Hello- I had a drive issue and lost registrations for my software, including Garritan Personal Orchestra (GPO) and ACID 5. I re-installed and registered ACID first. When ACID opened, it scanned for vst instruments. GPO popped up, with a message about not being authorized so it appears ACID ignored it, it does not show up on the list of available vst instruments. I've since re-registered/authorized GPO and would like to have ACID find it, as it still does not show up on the list at Options | Preferences | VST Instruments. Pressing re-fresh does not find it either, and it is in the default folder being scanned, C:\program files\vstplugins (and is properly installed and working in other music software programs. Thanks for your help.

You may need to follow the procedure in the ACID Tips section of my web site. It is a last resort for forcing ACID to recatalog your VST's and unfortunately involves editing the Windows registry. Use at your own risk but it usually works.

Thanks, I had found the procedure for editing the registry to re-scan for vst effects, but missed the one for vst instruments that you've provided!
