Greeting Gentlement from a very satisfied SF user of 3 years! Upon attempting to re-install SF from a cd with 4.0b (then appling an upgrade to 4.0e) it tells me that there has been a previous version of a higher version installed. That is correct and while it is informative, it is preventing me from re-installing. Yes, windows 98 hosed a prvious de-install due to a botched attempt at a bios upgrade. So as I am forces to do a total manual de-install have erased all instaces of of keys in the registry with "forge" in the name and now find several .sys files that also contain it. Seeing that editing these files may be dangerous or impossible, is there a way of overriding the install program to not do this check? Or just some way to get this install to fly without a total OS re-install to clear out all signs of an old instance? Thanks in advance. Rick Rowland |

Was the "old instance" 4.0e or 4.5? |
