I have some .wav files that I can open and listen to fine in Windows98, but Sound Forge XP 4.0 gives me the following info: "filename.wav" is compressed and requires a Microsoft Audio Compression Manager (ACM) compatible driver. When an appropriate driver has been installed, Sound Forge XP will be able to open and edit this file. I looked at the index of help and looked at the items they pointed me to. The Microsoft CODEC's that I have listed under AUDIO are: - IMA ADPCM - ADPCM - GSM 6.10 Audio - CCITT G.711 A-Law and U-Law - PCM Converter Non Microsoft CODECS listed are: - DSP Group Truespeech Software - Lernout & Houspie - Indeo audio software ...But I can open the files through windows! Therefor, I have a compatible CODEC for the files, so why is SF XP not using it? Thanks, Ben |
