Yes, this is normal. The only client realy able to open .rm or .ra files is the real player. you can edit .rm files using real producer. Furthermore - if the .rm file is all you have i would get a good clean audio out from one computer playing back the .rm file and get another computer with a good clean audio in to record it - as a .wav file. you can then convert to MP3.
