Subject:Problem with Mp3 Audio Plugin?

When I try to save fairly small .wavs (ACID loops, for
example) as mp3s using the Mp3 Audio Plugin in Soundforge
XP, I always end up with a small gap being inserted at the
beginning of the mp3 and the end being cut off!
This doesn't happen when creating a longer mp3 file (say,
whole song).
I've tried different bit rates, using no ID3 tag etc.. but
still it makes no difference.

Anyone any ideas?
