Subject:preverb?

hi,

I just went to a seminar by sonicfoundry...the dude went
really quick on how to do "preverb". he took the first few
notes of a song, copied it into annother wav, reversed &
added a reverb (i think it was a gate, but this is where I
got lost!)
then he re-reversed and i think copied the new sound over
the original....can anybody let me know if this is right.

(he had a newer version of SoundForge (4.5) and I only have
4.0, so I can't get the same kind of reverbs(not to mention
I think he has the directx stuff also))

Hi Vance,

Earlier this week I received an email from SonicFoundry
announcing the availability for download of Vegas Pro Beta,
and I took them up on it. Very nice, has 24/96 capability
for recording. I'm currently using SF4.5c. I noticed that
Vegas has a parameter for "Audio Editing Program", and that
was automatically filled in as SF. If I have a piece of
audio selected in Vegas, and hit Ctrl+E, it starts SF, and
the selected clip appears in the SF window, ready to edit.

My point of all this - if Vegas can record 24/96, how long
can it be before the Audio Editor can edit 24/96 ?

I personally prefer NOT to be bombarded with endless
scheduled-for-release messages, due in Apr, no May, no
June, etc . . that some companies do.

Regards,
Rick Z

Rick,

I agree with you. Sonic Foundry does seem to be stronger on delivery than promises (although Vegas' copy protection didn't seem to be quite ready). I just hope that Sound Forge isn't orphaned in favor of Vegas, which is not a substitute. Sonic Foundry has been disturbingly silent on the point!
