Subject:Whither Sound Forge? Posted by: vanceen Date:6/13/1999 9:46:00 AM What is happening to Sound Forge? There hasn't been a substantial upgrade in quite some time (4.5 doesn't count). Will SF continue to move up to, e.g. 24-bit, or is Vegas the heir? If so, I'm truly disappointed, because although the Vegas beta is very nifty and Sonic Foundry Stable in its own right, it lacks functions that I rely on heavily in Sound Forge (noise reduction, for starters). SF has been one of the most useful and reliable programs I've ever owned, but if it's not going to catch up with 24 bit technology, I might have to consider (choke) deserting! Anybody have any news on this point?
