Subject:Can't open MP3s

I just upgraded to SoundForge 4.5 so that I could open and
work with MP3 files. I installed the new software and
downloaded the update. However, when I try to open ANY MP3
file I get the message:

! Unable to decode file.
This file is not an MP3 or contains corrupted information.

I know for a fact that they are MP3 files as they play just
fine in MP3 players. I find it doubtful that every MP3 on
my machine (from many sources) could all be corrupted.

Any ideas? Thanks.
