I can't open an avi I just encoded with a Pinnacle Studio
400. I'm trying with sound Forge. I get a "can't open....a
necessary video codec may be missing"

I can open it in Stream Anywhere, but can't save it. SA
says its a Video for Windows, video format IV41, audio
format PCM.

Can anyone tell me what I'm doing wrong?

Tx,

You'll need the latest version of windows media tools 4. I
can't recall the address off the top of my head but if you
can find microsoft/windows/dowlaods or something like that
it should be approx 4.5 meg. Once you've installed that
your away! Hope this has been of some help. Sorry I can't
remember the address but let me know if you have trouble
and I'll look it up.

Hey,

I'm running into the same problem as well. I can't seem to find anything at MS called "Media Tools"

Any other clues? Soundforge Support, any clues?

Thanks,

Andy
