Here's my latest 1,000,000 dollar idea: You know all those effects, processes and plug-ins with the line graphs? e.g. Graphic fade, Wah Wah, Pitch bend. What if you could save and retrieve these interchangeably among them? And what if there was an analysis tool that created these line graphs for, say, envelope (with various RMS and peak modifiers) or pitch (defined 20 different obscure ways as Sonic Foundry loves to do) or envelope of a given frequency band? And what if there was an editor tool for these line graphs where you could flip them about horizontal or vertical poles and generally futz about with them systematically? It seems to me you could then use it/them to create: background track duckers for voice overs, generalized multi-element FM synthesizers, compressors with side chain inputs, velocity crossfade, Bootsy Collins style wah wah envelope followers, vocoders, the list goes on and on. OK, maybe not vocoders, but it's still a good idea, no? Please send check or money order to..... James Lo ;) |

Oops, never mind about the wah wah, and there goes the Boosty Collins effect, but what if wah wah had a line graph? |
