Subject:One way to make infinite reverb with Acoustic Mirror

I don't know if there isn't already some documented, better way of doing this, but I couldn't find it and was pretty happy with this solution: * Using tools->synthesis->simple, generate a .wav file that contains 12 secs or more of noise. * Open Acoustic Mirror, browse over to your new file and open it (i.e. use it as an impulse file). * That's it, infinite reverb. If you want stereo, you have to explicitly create stereo noise, since the synthesis tool seems to make only mono noise. The only drawback is that AM seems not to want to generate responses greater than 12 secs long, no matter how long the noise impulse file is, so you have to do a lot of pasting to make the response longer. Maybe someone knows how to coax AM into doing so. I don't own a sampler, but it seems like one could make a whole lot of breathy sounding samples this way. I used it to synthesize some room tone by applying it to the sound of a large, metal door closing, 100% wet, pitching the result down, and then mixing it back into my track 50 dB down. It sounds like a big empty warehouse. James |
