Subject:soundforge 4.0b - recording impossible after upgrading from win95 -> 98

Hi all, I have a serious problem with our everyday-workhorse, SF 4.0 b (build 135). After some trouble with Win 95, we decided to upgrade an MMX 200 to Win 98. The transition went smooth, with one major exception: SF won't record audio any more. The strange thing: I _can_ record with the sound-card's own editing software (Ed!son Wave by TerraTec, which I don't use under normal cirumstances), and I can _play_ audio from every application I own (even with SF). What I tried: I changed the SF-Preferences from the cards own driver to the Windows Mapper, I re-installed the newest versions of the cards driver, and some other things, to no avail -- but the point is: The problem only appears within SF. The meters of the recording-monitor show no input, and the recorded file is complete silence. The computer is a dedicated audio-workstation, all SCSI, with a TerraTec EWS 64 XL as digital I/O (no anolog connections ;-). Any ideas? (Please CC answers to my hotmail-account , as this is the only account I can directly access from my audio-workstation). Thanks in advance! Dietz / MediaArtCompagnie, Vienna |
