Subject:ACID 6.0 Project WAVs Stopped Playing

Some ACID 6.0 projects include WAV files of voice or instruments and they appear in the project but don't play. Locate and open with Sound Forge and they are valid. Did find some were listed as BeatMapped and changed them back to One Shot. No dice. Saved the WAV under new name and added to project as new track. No Dice. Started a fresh project and brought the WAV file in. No dice. Losing my mind and I have a deadline......

Here's what was changed: Holidays housekeeping; new hard drive, fresh XP Pro install, fresh ACID, VEGAS, SF, DVDA, CDA installs. Any project wave files that were under My Documents, Sony ACID Pro 6.0 Projects (or other stray locations) were MOVED and consolidated on the hard drive that has been dedicated to ACID in a folder called Acid Audio Stems. WAVs moved but not projects...

In summary, if a WAV can be searched, found, previewed in SF, WTF is it that ACID 6.0 doesn't like? Thanks for any input. Tim

UPDATE: The WAV plays fine in preview pane and Clip Properties window. In project timeline track, it will only display/play a tiny blip portion of it and dragging it out is blank in the remainder....

If you start a new project and add any of the WAV files from the original project, does the project play back?

Do you have the right output selected under the playback device selector button under the Master control in the Mixer?

Thanks for the reply.

New project, open one of those project tracks, drag the mouse and see that it is Beatmapped and BLANK on the timeline. Open the Clip Properties, change it back to One Shop and HEAR it fine in that window. Close it and it's still blank on the timeline.

FLASH: Now if I delete the track from the timeline and "repaint" it (as One Shot) it works. Earlier it refused to drag any further than a fraction of a second, preventing playback.

I'm not sure what is different today other than a few program re-starts (and a couple scroll bar crashes) but it works now and I'm back in business!
