I have a system based on a 400Mhz, 256M RAM, 9gig SCSI, 6.4ide. My soundcard is Layla. My software is Cubase VST 3.6, Sound Forge 4.5, CD Architect and Acid. My question is......when I enter the audio editor in Cubase I have it set up to go to Sound Forge. When I go to play the file in Sound Forge I get the message that the output is being used by another device(Cubase) How can I set up Cubase or Sound Forge so that they can share an output buss? Or how can I set it up so that Sound Forge plays back THROUGH Cubase? |

I don't know if this applies to Layla, but I called Event with the same question about Gina and they told me it's not possible to share simultaneously. However, I use Sound Forge 4.5 with Cakewalk 7.0 and Acid in the same fashion as you describe on a very similar computer and Sound Forge takes over the Gina when it's open. In other words, I can edit and play back in Sound Forge but I can't play back in the other program until I close the file in Sound Forge. If you ever do figure out a way around this, please post it and I'll do the same. pauly wrote: I have a system based on a 400Mhz, 256M RAM, 9gig SCSI, 6.4ide. My soundcard is Layla. I bought a second sound cardand assigned the outputs of SF to it. That way everybody has their own card and no problems!!! Thanks for your suggestion and I hope this helps you!!!
