Subject:major waves L3 record delay

I have the waves L3 plug in on the master buss.
When i put a trk in record ready there is a large delay between the trks being played back & the internal metronome
If i dont use the inturnal metronome im able to record but the recorded wave file is out of sync with the rest of the trks on the time line.
If i disable the plugin every thing is fine.
Different Wave plugins add different amounts of delay , the worst being L3 then some of the other compressors { L2 ,waves rennasance, ect]
Any one have this problem???
Any ideas on how to fix this problem??
Is this just a simple latency problem??
Ive tryed messing with the audio device settings ... nothing helps.
I have a Presonus fire studio with ASIO drivers
I allso have tryed this with ASIO 4 all drvers on another puter.. same problem.
Thanks for any help
frog

Are you monitoring input from a track when this delay occurs?

Thanks for the reply.
Im able to fix by turning the L3 off.
But.................
I want to use it :}
The play back from the time line is behind the metronome and any parts on the time line.
I use midi and loops to ruff out a song .
I then replace what i dont like with live parts.
This problem only happens when i try to record into Acid while listening to the parts on the timeline.
I can import wav.files into the project fine.
Thanks Frog

waves L3 and L2, the sonnox plugs, uad plugs all use delay compensation, most high quality plugs do so they get that extra milliseconds to calculate better math, which = higher quality sound.

disable L3 while recording.

So you are using input monitoring at the track level?

That is, you are recording audio to a track and monitoring the input from your hardware through ACID?

As others have already suggested, disable the L3. Its a no-brainer fix. Although you may prefer to hear it while recording, its not necessary and is obviously causing problems. Personally I've never heard of anyone in the professional audio world inserting a device such as the L3 on the master bus (hardware or plugin) while tracking. Save the L3 until you have your final mix in place – this is the point where the L3 should come in.
