i'd still like to understand the relationship between win98 audio properties (conversion quality) & sound forge's sample rate setting -- in explicit terms. ..if ya'll may?? ----------------------------- ref: if you right click on the sound icon in the systray you access "Audio Properties." Under "Recording"- "Advanced Properties" it talks about Sample Rate Conversion Quality. the slider goes from Good to Best. my question is: How exactly does this relate to being in SF and setting the sample rate to 44kHz - as an example?? ..do i have to worry 'bout this setting?? ..i'm using an SB-AWE64 and i can't seem to set it to best ...bob |

The settings in the Audio Properties for Win98 effect the Sound Mapper device. The Sound Mapper allows for things the physical hardware may not including resampling. When recording in Forge it is best to record using the actual physical device. Set this up in the Propertied | Wave tab in Forge. Forge defaults to using the Sound Mapper. look for my post in response to your Win98 questions (looks like the same question). The Date on my reply is 6/17/99, if that helps you find it. bob wrote: >>i'd still like to understand the relationship between win98 >>audio properties (conversion quality) & sound forge's >>sample rate setting -- in explicit terms. ..if ya'll may?? >>----------------------------- >>ref: >>if you right click on the sound icon in the systray you >>access "Audio Properties." >> >>Under "Recording"- "Advanced Properties" it talks about >>Sample Rate Conversion Quality. the slider goes from >>Good to Best. >> >>my question is: How exactly does this relate to being in SF >>and setting the sample rate to 44kHz - as an example?? >> >>..do i have to worry 'bout this setting?? >> >>..i'm using an SB-AWE64 and i can't seem to set it >>to best >> >>...bob >> >> |
