Hi, Has anyone encountered the following error when loading Sound Forge 4.5 into WIN95 ? The error message is as follows " This software requires 9071 KB of free disk space on drive D" This is my CD drive which has no physical memory.?? I don't get it. I'm using a dual boot system with Win NT 4.0 and encountered no problem installing SF4.5 on that drive. I am using a Gina audio card which forces me to use Windows 95 due to the lack of drivers available for NT4.0. I spoke with the folks at Event and drivers may be available at the years end! Thanks Ted |

I've been running WIN98 for a while now and have had no trouble. I use Gina with driver v4.0.3 and CakEwalk v8.04 = Sound Forge v4.5. I've had really no problems with my setup and I am very, very happy... Jorge Silvestrini jsilve01@bellsouth.net |

Hi Ted, I have received the EXACT same error when I tried to install my copy of 4.5!!!!!!!!! I don't know what could be causing it either. I have two CD-ROM drives. One is a DVD-ROM, the other is the SCSI PlayWrite CD and Advansys SCSI controller that comes with the CD Factory bundle. Both get this error message. I don't think it has to do with the fact that you have a dual boot, I am running a Win98 ONLY machine. I have a Micron Millenia MAX. I have no Gina card or anything except the built-in audio. So I don't think that is causing any issues. I haven't been able to figure it out!!!!! I have to do a little more playing with the system though to see if I can find out why it is doing it. What ticks me off even more is the copy protection SF put on the CD. Theoretically, we could have just copied the CD to the hard drive and installed from the hard drive and the error would not have happened. But the Install won't let you install from the Hard Drive. If anyone knows a fix, PLEASE POST!!!! I had the exact same problem! The bad news though is... I dont know how I fixed it!! I dont remember what I changed, it mighta been a whole new computer, but next time I tried, it worked! Its definitely a bug in the installer. >>to see if I can find out why it is doing it. What ticks me off even more is the copy protection SF >>put on the CD. Im always scared to reinstall Windows or upgrade my computer cause I'll have to go through all the registering all over again... :< Scott |

I had the same problem. On a whim I uninstalled a previous version of Sound Forge which was on my PC. I was then able to install SF4.5. Maybe you should try that... weida Ted Johnson wrote: >>Hi, >> Has anyone encountered the following error when loading Sound Forge 4.5 into WIN95 ? >> >>The error message is as follows " This software requires 9071 KB of free disk space on drive D" >>This is my CD drive which has no physical memory.??
