Subject:Smooth scrolling effs up the sound!

Whenever I enable "smooth" (Ha!) scrolling via the menu or via shift-F6, the sound playback slows down and breaks up. I'm told this is due to the video board grabbing the PCI bus. Solutions abound, apparently, for the Matrox, Hercules & S3 cards, but I have a Cirrus Logic 546X AGP card (v1.60b). Does anyone know where I can get a patch for this card? Thanks, Peter |

Cancel this request - I've sorted it. In case anyone else has the same problem, here's how: Go to Settings/Control Panel/Display. Select the Bus Config. tab and check the "Increase Non-AGP Bus Priority" box. The "Enable PCI Bursting" box on my machine is also checked, and the system now works fine in Smooth Scrolling mode. Hope this helps... :-) Peter |
