I am using Studio 7. When I import a midi file it doesn't seem to bring any tempo or key data in with the data. For example when midi files are in the explorer I can mouse over them and see what the tempo is supposed to be in the status bar. However it always imports them at 120bpm and in the key of A. Some files sound ok but for others the tempo and key are wroing so I have to manually adjust it. Does it have anything to do wity type 0, type 1, multi-tempo files etc ? I can't seem to find a pattern. |

Let's assume that the MIDI file has at least one tempo marker and contains key information. When you import a MIDI file into an existing project you are telling ACID to import the MIDI file into the tempo and key context of ACID. This is what ACID does. ACID assumes that you are importing into an existing project. The only way for ACID to import all of the tempo and key data is to open the MIDI file as a project. You do this by right clicking on the MIDI file in ACID's explorer and selecting "Open as New Project". ACID will close out the existing project, and load up the MIDI file as a complete project, including all tempo and key information. There is no "merge" of tempo/key information. Peter |
