Subject:Extract Audio - Title Generation

I'm using SF 9.0c (build 405) and have been using Sound Forge 8 (and earlier versions) to remaster some old 33 rpm albums. I think I just noticed something different, and bothersome, in SF 9 and wanted to see if I needed to do something different in SF 9.

In the past (SF 8 and earlier) I recorded an entire side of the album into a single wav file. Then I'd place markers in the wav file to identify the tracks on the record, and then convert the markers to regions, and extract the regions into separate files. I'd then open up all of the extracted files (lets say there were 8 of the them) and do whatever editing was necessary. The name of the file that was extracted was the same as the "title" of the extracted file, and I could easily identify which was track 1, track2, etc in the "windows" drop down in sound forge.

However, it seems that in SF 9 when I go through the same process Sound Forge 9 assigns the same name to each "title" (title of the original file from which the subordinate files were extracted) in the extracted file (even though the extermal file names are different). So when I open multiple files, the windows drop down (in Sound Forge)shows me all the extracted files with exactly the same "titles".

Do I need to change some setting in SF9? Is this a bug? Am I recalling earlier versions of SF incorrectly and did it always work this way?

I believe this is a Summary information default setting issue.
Select: "Files> Properties> Summary". Clear or change the summery info. Then select; "Extended> Default> Yes> OK". Additional Marker and Region settings are available via "Options> Properties> Labels>

(Properties can also be accessed via right-click waveform)

Cheers, RR
