I know this is a user forum, but I hope to generate some interest in this format so that it will be added in future updates and versions. The Ogg-Vorbis format (.ogg), is going to be the next big movement in audio compression since .mp3 came along. While it doesn't compress the audio any smaller than .mp3, it should provide better audio quality at the same bitrate and it is designed for internet streaming. In addition, the Ogg- Vorbis format is open source, and patent and license free. You will never have to pay a fee for selling music .ogg encoded. The .mp3 format patent holders want to start charging for using their format. Sonic Foundry's Siren Jukebox 2.0 already supports the format, so when will I be able to save my ACID projects in .ogg without buying Siren? |
