Hello, In trying to render a loop at a new pitch and tempo for use in Vegas Audio, I soloed one track of one complete loop of a mono bass loop. I set level of the track to 0 dB, checked the master level meters and verified that the playback was less than 0dB. I then rendered the loop to a mono file and open it in Sound Forge. It was clipping very badly. I played with the track level and finally had to reduce it BY 10 dB!! to remove clipping. What am I missing here? Brett |

What program are you rendering it in? I'm kinda confused, since this is an Acid forum and you mention Vegas? If you're rendering it in Vegas and are using Vegas Pro, then this was a known bug in Vegas Pro in version 1.0a. This problem was fixed in version 1.0b. If you're rendering it in Acid, then I'm not sure what your problem is either then. Hi Brian, Forget about the Vegas part, I was just explaining why I was rendering the loops for use outside of ACID. (I'm also using Vegas Audio as I posted, not Vegas Pro and am aware of all of the issues with Vegas.) It's very simple. Take a loop in ACID, set it to the tempo and key I want as an end product. Play back the loop and make sure the meters don't peak. Render the soloed track in ACID and find it's clipping very badly. I have to reduce the loops track volume by 10 dB to keep it from clipping. Very odd. Simple problem. Meters in ACID say no clipping, the rendered loop clips by over 10 dB. Bad. Brian Franz wrote: >>What program are you rendering it in? This is a known-issue, which we've discovered since the most recent release. When rendering to mono, the mixer engine is adding both channels at 100% (ACID splits mono events, because the engine treats only stereo data). This causes the volume to double. To make sure that you're not clipping when mixing down to mono, the workaround is to lower your master volume by 6.1 decibels. Sorry for the inconvenience, and I hope this helps. -Joel Brett Crockett wrote: >>Hello, >>In trying to render a loop at a new pitch and tempo for use >>in Vegas Audio, I soloed one track of one complete loop of >>a mono bass loop.
