Hi,

I would like to install CDA 5.2 on a new brand new PC.
On installing process It says: Microdoft Visual C ++ Redistr. and Windows Installer 3.1 required!
Cant remember that I ever had a message like this. Im running xp home, serv-pack 2. Do I really have to install this?
I appreciate youtr help. Thanks.

It says you need it, then you need it. It's not a biggie, though I would have thought it would have been included in the install bundle if required.

It may be something needed in the latestest release for functionality with (say) the Izotope plugins from Sound Forge. Or some of those (relatively generic runtime things) may have been de-installed when you have previously uninstalled something unrelated.

I went thru the same thing, and to be honest, I'm not installing anything until Sony has the common sense to include them in the installation package. The system I need to install it on is deliberately non-internet, and I have no desire to go jumping thru hoops for something as simple as an update. To make matters worse, the required stuff isn't even listed with the DirectX link. It's stupid... absolutely stupid.

I hate it when software companies do incredibly stupid stuff like this. There's no excuse for such a blatant lack of common sense.
