Subject:Acid Music 2.0 problem with Windows ME

Greets, I've been using Music 2.0 for quite some time with Windows 95. With Win95 I had virtually no problems after getting it set up correctly. I recently upgraded to ME and am now having problems with getting Music to run properly. What is happening is I can play a song that is stored as a multitrack project and about 10 seconds after the song finishes I get an Error Message. Dr. Watson tells me that sfacid.exe accessed memory improperly or encountered some nonspecific error. This is quite exasperating for me. I had no problems before with Win95. Will Music 2.0 have to be modified in order to work with ME? Is there or will there be an Upgrade for Music 2.0 for Windows ME? If someone can shine a floodlight on this subject, I would be truly grateful. Salute and Thanks, Jon |

Dear Jon: At this time the current verison of Acid is not supported under the Windows Me Platform. I would check the updates page for an update to Acid with this functionality. A typically evasive Sonic Foundry response, if you ask me. Although I still rate ACID very highly, I can't say the same for Sonic Foundry, who seem to have put further development of, and support for, ACID on hold in favour of pursuing their tedious vertical marketing strategies (see 'news', for instance). Indeed, the update from 1.0 to 2.0 was so minimal that it was an insult to charge for it. If they'd added the same real-time time-stretching/pitch-shifting to Vegas and gave ACID users a decent discount, I'd be much more positive, but it's pretty clear that they're not heading in that direction. Anyway, just my two cents worth... David Dave Palmer wrote: >>Dear Jon: >> >>At this time the current verison of Acid is not supported under the >>Windows Me Platform.
